Kim Caraher Children's Author
I love being with children, and reading to them as well as writing for them. I spend my time writing and working in schools and libraries – and doing a million other activities with my own three kids. In a child-centred world, every day there is something new, something unexpected, something hilarious. I try to capture some of that sparkle in my stories. For me, reading is about fun and excitement. This is what I want to bring to children in my books.
I have written ten books for children, you can find out more about each of them on this site. The stories are humorous and fast-paced, with the occasional scary story. They have a wide appeal, working well with groups, early readers, and older children who are looking for high interest, short novels.

My titles appear on lists focussing on literacy development and boys and reading.

One of my books has been published in the USA by Sundance, and in Canada by Scholastic: My Teacher Turns into a Tyrannosaurus, which is part of the SupaDoopers series.  This story has also been made into a radio play and adapted as a musical for children to perform.
